Here is what the new KME replaced. Old Engine 8 is a 1987 FWD/Seagrave HD-40-DF 1250/750 with s/n T79703. It is now reported to be at West Hickory TWP, PA in Forest County.

Also new to Philomont is SERV 608, a 2008 GMC Sierra SL6 completed by Fast Lane of Purcellville.

It is a EMS first responder. Philomont has no ambulances.

When Loudoun County began a tanker upgrade program several years ago across the county, Philomont received this 2006 International 7600/2007 4-Guys 1500/3000. It runs as Reserve Tanker 608.

[quote name='mnsand' post='332831' date='Aug 29 2009, 22:35 ']Last one from Fire Station 22. A final determination has not yet been made whether this truck will be permanately housed at Station 22.

The Fire Marshall's investigation unit is this newer 2008 Ford F350/Supreme.

One other roster note with the changes to apparatus at Fire Station 22 and 23 - the county's Medical Ambulance Bus (MAB) is a 2007 Thomas Built/Sartan Services. It was previously housed at the Training Center and has now moved to Fire Station 23 in Moorefield. In addition, a second Monster Medic from Lucketts (2005 Freightliner M2/2006 Medic Master) will also run from Station 23.

Mike,

Today myself and Hungrybus visited Loudoun Sta 6, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23. While at 22 we learned the Fire Marshall Unit has been moved to Station 19. Also Sta 19 is expecting the arrival of Middleburgs old R603 1990 Ford C/Pierce to be R619. Also rumor has it Loudoun Co. will be shelling out some money to replace the Chassis of the COG Mobile Air Unit from 623 apparently its cracked in many places. Also 13 is expecting a New Ambulance 613-2 sometime soon, No specs were available.

The squad that they are refering too is the newer squad that the county owns. The volunteers in Middleburg voted to give it back to the county. The old 1990 Ford squad was sold to a department in Canada.

Any ideas why they are giving it up? When I was there earlier this year, they seemed pretty proud of it.

Probably lack of trained personnel and not really all that many calls. 19 has career staff 24/7 and is trained in certain special operations like Haz Mat. Believe it will be cross staffed by the Ladder Company.
