History of the Atlanta Fire Dept.
That probably explains why it was not at the station last week when I went to get a photo of it thanks Shoe......BTW have you changed stations yet??????

Jim, I have found several OOOOOOld apparatus pics in all that historical stuff I told you about. I am scanning them now, and will post them soon. some of these are from the 1960's!

Up next Atlanta Sta.23 located at 1545 Howell Mill Rd. NW It was placed in service May 11,1948 and operated under the jurisdiction of the Fulton Co. FD until Jan. 1, 1952 when Sta.23 became part of the Atlanta FD....



In 1994 Company 23 was disband......During this time so as to give the citizens the appearance that the station was still operating and to keep the lights on.....Rescue 23 operated continuing to run med calls....



In 1997 in what is / was a confusing move (follow me here) just before the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, The city condemned Station 11 on North Ave NE only for it to reopen as an eating establishment for the Olympic Patrons.....Company 11 moved to Station 15...... Then Engine 15 moved to Station 23 reorganizing Engine 23....
