1970 CF Mack
#21
June 19 attended the Lebanon County Convention Parade in Cornwall, PA. Next to my Mack is a 1937 GMC/American La France that my friend owns.

Attended the Pennsylvania Pump Primers in Harrisburg, PA on July 10th. Still no hard sleeve so I had to park in the grass as a "static display".

Got a chance to see your piece in person at Harrisburg, and it looks great! Was looking forward to meeting you, but couldn't find anyone around the truck when I could get away from mine down at the river. Good luck with it, lot's of potential there. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/BananaMan.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='BananaMan' /> Tom

Had the Mack at home today getting some things worked on that I had on my list.

First I sealed all of the holes that were drilled over the years from differant equipment being mounted on the diamond plate.

Next I started on the rear quartz lights. One was missing a lense and a bulb so I decided to just remove them. Not sure if I am going to find another set to put on there or not.

Then I bypassed the switches on the rear 12 volt deck lights(they have a switch in the cab). Started to rewire the rear outlet. Gonna try to switch it to a house hold plug but not sure if I can(20A 125V twist lock now)?

Took the 12 volt beep beep horn off and cleaned it up, cleaned the mounting surface and reinstalled it and now the beep beep works(it hasn't worked since I bought the Mack).

I still have a lot on the list but at least I made a dent in it today. Also ordered new cab ICC lights. The lenses on the other ones were shot.

I am going to the Cumberland County Convention Parade in Carlisle, PA this weekend. Anyone else going?

I'll be there for photos. I have been told that stations as far away as North Carolina will be attending, due to the large amount of cash prizes. Should be a good time.

So I was going through all of my photos the other night looking for pics for my sister's wedding coming up. I found some old fire pics that I had. Well turns out that the Mack CF that I bought I had shot in the early 90's. The Fire Buff club that I belong to took a trip out to the Pittsburgh area to shoot some stations. I think that this was at a muster out there some where?

Well the winter refurb project has started. On the list to try and get done for next years parade season is.

Lettering and Striping

Remove the wheel covers and paint the wheels if needed.

New hose bed

Paint the stang gun

Some minor painting on some of the metal on top to remove the rust

Replace the headliner in the cab.

Fix the cab spot lights (rebuild kits)

and whatever else I add till then. LOL
