Well I attended the MSFA Convention in Ocean City, MD. again this year. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for the start of the week, and the parade, so none to post from it. On Thursday and Friday, I was able to get out and about and photograph some rigs. Here are some of my favorites.

Thursday - I went out with fellow photographers BCFDphotoman, fd1686, and Tim into Worcester and Wicomico Counties in Maryland. We accomplished quite a bit and ended the day with around 30 rigs.

Friday - Most everybody had left town, so I voyaged out on my own into Sussex County, DE. The day started out rough with the first 5 stations having nobody around, or were out on calls. In the afternoon the clouds caught up with me inland, so I headed out to the shore line where the sun was shining bright!!

Saturday - It was time to head home, but I had one last stop set up thanks to my friend Jeff Beall. Unfortunately the weather was really hazy, and had a few clouds to start, but with a little help from photo shop the rig looks pretty good.

Shoop - What do you shoot with? Large (camera) file size or small? Do you do much editing? The clarity of your pics is amazing. Any info you can share is MUCH appreciated!

Thanks!

Nate,

I use a Nikon D90 camera. Just recently (last 2 months) learned a little about photoshop, but not a whole lot. I have been doing some minor modifications to my posts with the colors. When I resize my photos though, I use microsoft paint program. I resize them on there, so that I don't take away from the file size, or quality. Hope this helps.

Thanks Shoop! I use a D90 also. I'll have to look into Microsoft Paint.

Went on another joy ride today. Only goal in mind, was to reshoot DC Truck 8. I didn't think my last shot was very good. I took one of the juniors from the firehouse along, and told him to pick out some PG stations. We got a few rigs. Here are a couple that I thought were worth posting. Thanks to fd1686 for moving the Howard County rigs.

Today, I ventured south to photograph the Ft. Belvoir, VA fire dept. While I was there the guys took me for a ride to show me the facility. The made sure to drive by this unit. The rig below belonged to Ft. Myer, VA. and was involved in the 9/11/01 Pentagon incident. The plane actually hit, right beside this unit. This is whats left. It is kept at Ft. Belvoir, to hopefully be used in a military museum shortly.

Went out today for a little while. Turned into another military day. Had a connection that got me into the 3 military installations around Harrisburg City.

Started off at the PA Air National Guard on Harrisburg International Airport. Got this gem, which won't be around too much longer, as well as a few other units.

[Image: AirNationalGuardHarrisburgTanker71-4.jpg]

After that we headed to the Defense Logistics Agency in New Cumberland. We were able to photograph their entire fleet, in this grassy area.

Last stop of the day was the Navy Regional Mid-Atlantic Fire Dept. in Mechanicsburg. This was formerly known as Ship Parts Control before the Regional Dept, took it over. We were able to photograph the entire fleet here as well.

Personnel at every station were very welcoming, and cooperated with everything we asked. I couldn't thank them enough. It was also great getting this hospitality, after the tough processes to get into each facility.
