Former Affton Chief Jerry Buehne. Chief Buehne was fatally killed in a mva. He was struck by a vehicle fleeing from a Walgreens doing approx. 80 mph. The man had just stolen some cheap watches. Police were not involved at all. The accident was in March of 2005. Just a few days ago the man that crashed into Chief Buehne was charged with murder in relation to the accident. R.I.P. Chief Buehne.

Also pictured is Affton 1124.

Years ago, right after the first round of quints entered service, I visited St. Louis to shoot some of the new rigs. I was invited to spend the night at E-2/L-6 and was asked if I had any bunker gear, which I did. I was quickly asigned the right jumpseat position on the "busiest truck company in town"! We never turned a tire..... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' />

Now a days the busiest H&L would be 2 or 15. The busiest engine by far is e-28 which is stationed with H&L 15.

Here is the newer H&L 6. I think it is a 1996 E\-One, 95' or 100'. Photo from unknown photographer on webshots.
