There is an arm that connects to the tie rod and is then bolted to the frame. This way you drive it like a tractor trailer.

As for the Bus Pic the proper name would be BCCRS. In the begining when founder Duck Dunnington started it it was called Capitol Area Disaster Squad.

I'm talking about the Pierce that you don't like, you ol' fart. Not the Seagraves. The Pierces have a pinnable steering wheel so that they can be transported and towed. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

I saw the new Truck 712 @ Dover Rd the other day, how soon will it be in service?

Any word on when the new Rescue Squads will be in?

Is it true the new RS will be Pierce on a Dash Chassis?

In the July-August issue of "Fire Apparatus Journal" Curt Elie noted (in the Chesapeake Bay Area update) Montgomery County expected to award the pumper contract by the end of June. Just curious if that's happened & if so who was awarded the contract.
Any word about what is going to happen now with the Pumpers?
Pumper Bid was awarded to Crimson.
Mechanical engineers build weapons, whereas civil engineers build targets.

When the man at the door said," Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms", I, naturally assumed it was a delivery!

Interesting. Were the spec's the same as the prior contract, or were they modified? Also has a delivery time frame been announced?
Pumper Bid was awarded to Crimson.
It shouldn't come as a huge shock to anyone that Crimson won the bid. 30some pumpers being build on Spartan chassis that have already been purchased....not many manufacturers fit the bill on that one.

Don't know the time frame, the specs WILL be the same, some small changes.
A large part of my collection was purchased from a GOOD man, John Floyd. I give him FULL credit on his work, although I may miss something. Thanks John. Also Scott Mattson, Warren Jenkins, Michael Schwartzberg, and Mike Sanders. Thanks Guys.

I was up at Pierce last week doing a pre-construction for a pumper. I spent about a half hour looking over the three Monty County Rescue's... BEAUTIFUL....Some people did a great job laying out and specing these units....Congrats

Wheaton Rescue still has a Mack squad. It does have an automatic, however.
