What became of Truck Co. 01 and Truck Co. 02? They get disbanded and their rigs re-assigned? I thought they had '08 and '05 tillers respectively.

Thanks in advance.

Truck 2's TDA moved to 16.

Truck 12's TDA has been disband and the staffing moved.

Truck 1, the TDA sliver Spring bought was for the most part turned over to the county and runs as a reserve. It had the staffing of truck 2 while station 2 was being rehabed.
A large part of my collection was purchased from a GOOD man, John Floyd. I give him FULL credit on his work, although I may miss something. Thanks John. Also Scott Mattson, Warren Jenkins, Michael Schwartzberg, and Mike Sanders. Thanks Guys.

Tillerman,

So what's the latest with the apparatus in Germantown. It looks as if Tower 29 went to 34? Is this permanent? So now 29 is a Engine and Rescue Squad Station?

Civilian Bomb Technicians (as opposed to military) attend the F.B.I's Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville, AL. I know funding is tight, but I am pretty sure most departments funnel their guys down to Huntsville when the budget allows.

From what I learned this past Saturday while chasing woods fires, and correct me if I'm way off Tilllerman. There are now 3 stations that serve the Germantown area. Station 22 (West Germantown-Kingsview) runs with an engine, tanker, and EMS unit. The existing Station 29 (Germantown)houses 2 engines, a heavy rescue, boat support unit and EMS units. Station 34 (Milestone)houses an engine, tower, and EMS unit. I think there is also a BC or EMS officer assigned to one of those stations. My engine company had the pleasure of transferring to Station 34 after we cleared the brush fire and what we found was amazing.. Montgomery County knows how to build firehouses.

Thanks for the information. You said Truck 2's TDA was re-assigned. Does the company still exist with another rig?

Same for Truck 1. Still exist despite the TDA going to reserve? Also, did this rig formerly serve as Truck 19?

Thanks in advance.

Truck 2 and its staffing were moved to station 1 while station 2 was being rehabbed.

Sliver Spring bought a TDA off of county spec. It came in as Truck 719 and at the time the tower from 19 was going to station 1. However the TDA would not fit in 19 so it got change and sent to station 1 and the tower stayed as Tower 719. Station 1's staffing (truck 2’s staffing) used the new SSVFD TDA for a while until it was decided to move truck 2 to 16. At this point the staffing at 1 (from Truck 2) went to 16 with Truck 2. The SSVFD TDA just sits and no one from SSVFD really staffs it or gets it out. So the high command for SSVFD told the county to use it when they need it. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wacko' />

There is no more Truck 2, it is now Truck 16

Besides all the population and cultural changes in Montgomery Co., the DFRS has really changed in 10 years, no more Seagrave rigs, Pierce towers and TDAs all over, over 3 dozen of those red shoe boxes with 700 #s on them, the new stations are nothing special,IMO.I was surprised to see the "Ghost Squad" the other day running as RS3 (Cosgrove, I miss the Mack!)This rig is a Spartan chassis with an old BCCRS Saulsbury box that I've not seen in years...

I gave up long ago trying to figure out Montco, don't know how Rusty's Rosters does it!? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' />

Doc,

I got the fine privlege of being at Co 2's dedication back in Oct and was very impressed with the station. Money, Bowers( And Leggett) told the members of TP that the truck was coming back to Carroll Ave. But I guess that backfired.
