New Los Angeles Fire Chief Brian Cummings has shaken up the LAFD command staff.



Chief Deputy Donald Frazeur, Chief Deputy Emile Mack and Deputy Chief Andy Fox are being reassigned to the rank of Assistant Chief





Assistant Chief David Yamahata, a 35-year veteran, was promoted to chief deputy of emergency operations, replacing Frazeur



Assistant Chief Daren Palacios, a 31-year veteran, was promoted to chief deputy of administrative operations, replacing Mack.

Assistant Chief Roxanne Bercik, a 28-year veteran, was promoted to deputy chief of training and support bureau, replacing Fox.

Although most ambulance manufacturers build their vehicles with the KKK specs in mind it is not required unless federal funds are being used to purchase the ambulance.

I think the box is made by Braun Northwest or Northstar Ambulamce

Type I RA's ?!! I think I'm gonna keel over!



Last Type 1's I remember were the old Central Receiving Hospital "Brown Bombers" LAFD inherited in 1970, after CRH was closed.



I'll bet the lightbar will certainly make up for front box lights lol!

For all you LAFD buff's out there, LAFD has moved it's dispatch from underneath City Hall to new Fire Station 4. With the move LAFD dispatch is no longer known as OCD but as Metro. OCD is now backup with westlake dispatch being closed.

The FY2012-13 Budget for the City of Los Angeles see's about 36 million restored to the LAFD, In addtion the budget calls for the reopening of 1 Engine company in the West San Fernando Valley, Re opening of Nine EMS Captain's, 6 BLS Rescue's that will be manned for 12 hours.



Funding has also been authorized for the purchase of 11 engines, 3 trucks, 21 ambulances and 20 support vehicles as well as replacement of the department's CAD, AVL and Station alerting systems.
