Way back in 1972, Hurst Performance Products began to produce the "Jaws of Life" extrication tools.  To promote this device, they marketed a small response vehicle that was equipped with the Jaws set, air splints, trauma dressings, a spine board, resuscitator/inhalator, and a firefighting package with 25 gallons of light water and a Purple K Powder extinguisher.  All this was packed into an AMC Gremlin.  Somewhere between 5 and 12 of these little extrication units were built and this is reported to be the ONLY survivor still in service.

With a shoe horn and a big hammer?

Hurst removed the back seat and made the best use of the space available. It likely took them several tries before they found the correct arrangement. Once complete, there was still space to carry additional items, such as a typical EMS jump bag. I forgot to include that it also carried a 1000 Lb. electric winch on the rear.

Yesterday, "C. Allen B." and I ventured to the Chattanooga area.  Forecast was "partly cloudy", with a 6% chance of rain.  It didn't rain on us, but it was completely overcast all day.  We did pretty good in the morning, but once we hit Chattanooga, we had difficulties in finding the apparatus we were looking for.  Out of 6 CFD stations, we shot two rigs.
