I will have to continue this later due to my laptop experienced a catostrophic crash last night while posting photos. While I am waiting for Dell to fix it, hopefully a couple of you will be able to add a few photos from your collections. I'll leave you with one of the 74-77 set of LACoFD pumpers that happened to be in a folder I have at work.

Not the same one, but a couple that this dealer had. They purchased a number of old Wards and Crowns at auction a couple years back... Enjoy....

F-1843

50ft Telesqurt

Sold To: South Pasadena, CA

Current: Scrapped

Note: Was donated to the Rio Hondo Fire Academy. Was originally white over dark red, but repainted at some point by the students to black over dark red. Once they finished using the truck, the cab was cut up for some use, presumably by another collector looking to fix a damaged wide body or some other application.

Nice to see a Crown thread, its been awhile. I have a few I can add tonight, mostly built on Ford's though, not many fire coaches.

As far as longevity goes, several of the school districts around me Fresno, Madera and Mariposa still run school bus fleets almost exclusively made up of crowns. Since the buisness closed up in the late 80s all of these have to be a minimum of 20 years old.
