This & That from Here & There
I stopped at a few VFD's on the way to Frankenmuth, but didn't find anyone home at any of them.  When I arrived at the Frankenmuth FD, their platform was sitting on the front pad, aerial up and a large flag displayed.  Two guys there told me that the Chief had set that up and they were not going to touch it!  Their brush truck was outside and they put it in the back parking lot for me.

On to the muster!  Unfortunately, I was unable to gather all the specs/info on every rig I shot, but I'm still working on it.

In 1970, the Frankenmuth Fire Department purchased a new Dodge L-700 chassis from the local Dodge dealer and sent it to Fire Trucks, Inc. in Mount Clemens, MI to be built into a fire engine.  Years later, when the FFD retired it, the dealership bought it back for advertising/public relations use.  They still own it today and had it on display at their dealership, just a few blocks away from the muster site.

On the way back to my hotel for the night, I returned to Flint and caught two of the rigs I still wanted.

On Saturday morning, I made several attempts at some VFD's on the way to Frankenmuth, but again, found no one home.  I returned to the Frankenmuth FD, getting shots of the tower and two engines.  I shot Engine 2 again during the parade and that shot turned out better than the first one, so I'll post it when I get to the parade shots.

Back to the muster.  Some rigs were not parked in photogenic spots.  I tried shooting this one again during the parade, but when they were passing me, they were driving angled to the right, giving me a great view of the tractor, but only the nose of the trailer.
