This is 850o(scar) aka Oscar the grouch. The oscar callsign is for BA Hazmat. This unit operates on a 400km radius from Brisbane and can support any incident for 4days before power/fuel is needed. It has several ba sets ready to go incl long duration and spill containment. Also a generator and air compressor for refilling ba bottles.

After the Austral Firepacs (& before scania's) QFRS used Mercedes Benz Atego's for the type 3 pumper. You can see the similar body on this and the earlier scania pumper.

QFRS purchased 4x heavy rescue pumper tankers (3000l water, 500 foam, 6800L/m pump) in 3 slightly different configurations. They were based at stations with large industry ports (Townsville, Brisbane (Wynum & Hendra). This one is based at Beenleigh. While it doesnt have any ports its primary area covers a busy highway with not reticulated water nearby.

Quote:This unit and its sister (Fleet 0498QF) are the only ones like it in Australia, and the pipe framework flips down and whiteboards are attached for the incident management team.

Here is a photo of the 4x4 command rescue. This is the 'command pod'. The appliance was reclassified as an emergency tender as the command pod is unable to handle and log the radio traffic.
