Nice work in Florida, Eli. Do you know when Deerfield Beach merged with Broward County?

Here's a couple articles I found on the merger.... I do believe this is the future of Fire Protection in light of the economy...

Looks even better than the old Deerfield paint scheme, IMHO.

Does anyone have photos of the Port Everglades industrial apparatus in the red paint scheme? They were posted before but deleted when the board was archived.

Why are a couple of Boca Ladder trucks called Engines? It actually looks like they might be quints... ?

We have a few departments in Kansas that call Quints, Engine's. When asked they say the it is an Engine with a supplemental aerial ladder or the primary function is for Engine company operations. Mostly they are places that have Truck Companies but need a Quint for a specific area of their city. Hope this helps.

Alot of Places do that, Minneapolis Runs Quints as Engines currently Engine 15, and 2 are in Quints. but also those Quints are Run as Ladder Companies at different Stations. Ladder 2 (Different then Engine 2, there not Stationed together) and Ladder 5 Run the Quints as ladder Companies, it is kind of weird but. Minneapolis's there all 100' RM Quints.

and alot more cities in Minnesota run that way Burnsville they call them Engines but have a 75' Stick up on top.

poindexter6,

Boca Raton does not call them engines, they designate them as "Trucks".
