[color="#0000FF"]After the '20s, and into the '80s, Newark only had master streams mounted on their hose wagons. Pumpers did not have any at all. This is why in two-piece companies the wagon preceded the pumper on responses. The wagon would then drop a feed at the pumper, who took a hydrant, and then proceeded to the front of the fire building. Because of the large volume of fire being found by arriving companies at fire scenes after the riots, the rigs that did not have deck guns were equipped with pre-connected deluge sets. Some of these were later mounted on shop-made stands that sat over the booster reels.[/color] |
