Quote function isn't working for me Sad

Mississauga pumpers.....people always get it wrong....no idea where the info comes from. 1750GPM pump, 690G tank, 60G B foam tank (they as use AFFF A/B foam). These trucks had ideas that came from the new committee that wanted to see some changes made, and this is what they got. Pretty significantly different from the 'old style' of (too big) rescue pumpers they had before.

Toronto pumpers....2,000GPM, 600G tanks, and no foam. All the new pumpers (not yet awarded/built) are basically the same but will include foam tanks and a very different body layout.

thanks for your input.  The specs for the Mississauga pumpers were taken directly from the UL plates which give the rated capacity of the pump and the size of the water tank (usually in litres).  For example, on P104 the size of the water tank is listed as being 2604 litres which converts to 580 Imperial gallons.  For the size of the foam tank, the fire fighter/operator referred to the spec book carried in each rig that gave us the 50 Imperial gallon number.

In Toronto's case, the pumps are rated at 1250 igpm although they are, in fact,  2,000 gpm. pumps.  I believe Toronto has used this practice for many years.  I prefer to use the numbers as quoted on the UL plate although others may use the size of the pump as built.   Once again, the water tank capacities are listed on the UL plate.  For example, R321 carries 2241 litres or 500 Imperial gallons of water.

I sold each of those trucks and referred to the builder specs (what I spec'd out). IG are never used - always USG or liters. Or if they are requested everything is always referred back to USG. Pumps are made in USG and ULC tested in litres. For example, the Toronto pumps are 2,000USGPM, but ULC tested and plated to 7,000LPM. The Mississauga trucks were 750USG tanks, including foam. I hope this helps a bit.
