What companies have been closed in addition to E308?

And was this a totally unexpected closure for E308? I ask because they just got one of the new rigs. Seems odd they would assign a new rig to a company they knew was going to be closed. But then again cities specialize on lack of reasoning at times.

Thanks in advance.

Larry, They closed Ladder Co-70, Safety & Engine-308, which was a last minute decision, I guess. Talk was closing another company, but of course politics played into it. The same Councilman who is a big enemy, and always against us, decided he didn't want Firehouse in HIS district closed, and went whining to Mayor....go figure !!

Thanks for the update. Absolutely pathetic that they cut the FD to the bone and then the same politicians are the 1st to criticize when something happens due to lack of resources.

But no matter what keep up the fight and be safe.

And, since was talked about in this thread:

latest update as of August 10th:

July 1st, the City closed Ladder-70 (Sta-14 Central Ave) moved TL-75 up to 14 (To keep the 2nd TL) closed Safety, layed off 36-FF's, demoted 32-Lt's to FF, and demoted 6-Capt's to Lt.......

2-Weeks later the City closed Engine-308 (Warburton Ave).................

Within 2-weeks after closing 308, they reopened E-308, rehired 6-FF's and "remoted" 6-Officers..........

As of 8/10 @ 0800hrs, Ladder-70 was restored to service, and TL-75 went back to Sta-12. They rehired 8-FF's, and "remoted" 6-Lt's.........

The rest of the FF's remain layed off, as does 20-sumthin Officers still demoted and Safety still closed...... to be continued
