Just when I think I know a lot, I see something that reminds me I don't know squat. This is the first time in my 25+ years of buffing that I recall seeing a former Chicago rig in front line service with another department. I had always been under the impression that CFD ran things until they were ready for the boneyard, an impression supported by the relative lack of restored/preserved CFD trucks on the fire muster circuit.

Is this engine an anomaly, or has the City of Chicago started to sell depreciated assets as a new revenue stream in these tough economic times?
