This was a Pierce Demo. Note the Plano where the Pierce used to be on the ladder sign. Also no Q siren like the Plano rigs all had at the time.

Thanks for posting.

Plano bought the Pierce demo because their Truck 1 at the time, a 1982 American LaFrance Century, failed its ladder test. They figured it would be more cost effective to buy a new rig than to bring the ALF's ladder back into compliance. They were probably right, as this Pierce has served them well.

do you have the KME s/n? it begins with GSO. it is on a black plate in the cab, usually on the drivers side near the floor, and on a plate on the pump panel. the duplex # you provided has too many digits. it could be 34714-92, which would indicate that the chassis was ordered in 1992. I have a fairly complete KME list, it shows only 2 Duplex chassied rigs built in 1993 and 1994, a truck for Fresno, CA and an engine for Readington NJ.

That's the only # I could make out from the Yellow Tag under the drivers seat. The pump panel only had a Waterous Pump tag...I didn't see a Black Plate, but will double check next time I see the rig. Thanks Mike
