is the new marine unit still marine co#9 and what is the future of the firefighter?
343 is going to Marine 1 not 9. Marine 1 was the Mckean [built in 1954] ,the Firefighter 2 Is replacing the Firefighter soon as it is allmost complete. It is the same design.

Here are some ancillary pieces from the ACFD. A Logistics SUV, A Special Services Van and a utility vehicle from the Falls Church VFD but still lettered for Arlington County FD
Hi - Utility 106 is owned and operated by the Falls Church VFD. It is marked with ACFD lettering because it provides BLS services and falls under the EMS license of Arlington County.

Otherwise, great pictures from that day! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Took a little buff trip down to the city saturday. Checked out 343, it is in service as Marine 1 in Manhattan. Also went to the San Gennaro festival for a bit. Then over to Brooklyn. Here are a few shots.

Made it to one run in Brooklyn. A hazardous odor on Fort Greene Place between Lafayette and Hanson Place. Come to find out the floors were just refinished. They didn't want to ruin the floor so they put the bucket up to take a look. Shot of the back of Squad 1's second piece up first

Thanks for that info. There was so much going on that weekend that there were times that I had trouble remembering whom I was talking to.

Here are two clicks from the beginning of the run. This piece is a support van and trailer from the Carle Place VFD on Long Island. (Pixers who go to Firehouse Expo will recognize it sitting outside one of the hotels.) I clicked it early in the morning to catch the reflective stripes. At the refueling stop I saw the logos from the three runs.

The green ring around the Fort Benning logo is in honor of a South Carolina State Hiway Patrolman who was part of the police motorcycle escort down there and had the terrible misfortune of becoming LODD only two days later. All the funds raised by the sale of the green ring were sent to the family for the education of his children.
