Just got back from the PA State Convention. Got a decent amount of photos. Parade day started out good, but within in hour got ruined. I won't even go into that story. The day still turned out decent as about 15 of us photographers stormed through Luzerne County. Here are a couple of my shots. I'll let some others post.

If you guys did not look like a bunch of terrorist they would have left you shoot.

I was hoping that you guys would get a few more shots before it all went to hell. I was rather ticked off about this because it really could have been a good day. I never even made it home until early this afternoon, but that is an entirely different story - at least what I can remember.
Not your fault. Figures that 3 of the main rigs I wanted pull in right after. lol. I'm sure it was a long night. I was ready to be home.

Pat, thanks for setting up the photos earlier in the day. A few of us did stick it out; I managed a few good pictures but nothing compared to what could have been.
Mark this as the first time I have attended a parade that someone threatened to "have us removed from the property."

Aside from his sexual past, was there an explanation given why y'all were asked to leave?

Being one of the judges - I thought I had it all set-up properly with the sun angle perfect and plenty of time for the people to debark the rigs for photos. But as awleays a certain few had to ruin it by turing a 1-2 minute shoot of each rig into a 10 minute escapade but unfortunately these things happen when you have that many photographers. Not everybody can shoot at the same time and when it started getting backed up the one guy near registration got his panties in a wad and the head judge came over and shut it down immediately - very unfortunate and if there would have been more room we could have spread things out - such ashame on such a beautiful day.
it was a shame, but the back up had nothing to do with us. at the point where we were essectially thrown out, we had one rig to shoot and one rig being shot. no backup on our part and no delay in our end on getting the trucks to judging. the backup was at Registration, there were 20+ rigs there backed up all the way up the hill. We did not cause that. had it come to the point where we were causing the backup, we would have sacrificed shooting rigs so as not to have any problems, and waved them thru. that was the fastest photo line at a parade lineup I have ever been to, with as many guys as were there. tops 3 minutes a rig. I checked my memory card we shot rigs at the following times.
Norristown-8:59am Tom Bretz-9:07am Tom Bretz-9:09am Ashley-9:11am Ashley-9:12am Sugar Notch-9:14am Sugar Notch-9:16am White Haven-9:19am White Haven-9:20am Freeland-9:21am Warrior Run-9:24am Mahanoy City-9:28am Hatboro-9:30am West Conshohocken-9:33am and the 4 minute gap between Warrior Run and Mahanoy city was because there was nothing to shoot! Not your fault Todd, you tried.

I think we did much better going on our little tour. Glad to meet all of you.

Shoop,
Do you have any further info & specs on Blue Ridge Summitt, PA (Franklin County) new Seagrave Engine? I just seen on ITE's website that Blue Ridge Summitt has ordered a new Marauder II Engine. Delivery is due next Spring. Thanks

I was told it will look like similar to the DC wagons.
Mike was right after looking back and walking to the front of the building from the area where they were judging it was definitely the fault of the registration and I apologize for referring that it was some of the photographers faults when in fact it was registration and would have been fine but that person at registration caused a fuss that did not need to be. I guess some people get their panties in a wad when they see a group of people that were actually posing them in record pace with that many people. I don't know what to say but next year I have already talked with the fire chief and it will have plenty of room at Big Boulder for photo ops. Sorry guys.
that's ok todd the only thing we ask is we have weather like we had last saturday next year.
Todd,
like I said, not your fault at all. you tried. and like Dave said, lets hope we have the weather next year that we had Saturday.
