I wonder if it's not a part number. That's a transmission cover. Here's a pic of the J chassis layout from the Ed Hass site www.affba.org with the tranny cover nicely in place.

That Baltimore Cab that you say was used for LADDER 49- Do you mean for interior shots? And if so why didnt they just use the interior of the engine they used?

It is. It was in a junkyard near Emmitsburg, Md. about two years ago.

And to think that I was "saving" up some of these pics to forward to Bob! I guess I can forget that idea, LOL. Bob, has an incredible memory. He provided some details on an old photo from the 1960's that had some Danvers apparatus in it. He told me what he was doing at the time and almost all of the apparatus on scene. What an incredible memory and source of information on anything "north shore."

Ahhh Old Baltimore City Truck 16. That truck was on ebay in 2004 and would not sell. If anyone is looking for the information to this rig it is a 1989 Spartan Monarch/L.T.I 106 Foot ladder.
The GMC/National Foam unit for Mobil Oil I would say is the same as the one in FAJ. Seems that the roof light was mounted sometime while it was in service.
THe rig is the same. It operated from the Mobil Oil Terminal in the Greepoint section of Brooklyn. I shot it operating at a 3rd alarm in the same facility working side by side with the FDNY. Photo By HWDoyle

It is the Foam Unit from FAJ. I shot the rig while operating at a multiple alarm fire on Greenpoint Av in Brooklyn at the Mobil Oil Terminal. The year was around 1975. The rig itself was kept in a garage on the property and was difficult to photo due to restrictions on private property. Anyway, they had a fire and it worked side by side with the FDNY rigs.
