Found these pictures hidden in folder from trip to Oklahoma City dated April 20th 2002. The city of Oklaahoma was unveiling a new display at the OKC Murrah Building Memorial, dedicated to the Terror Attacks on the World Trade Center. Also that day they donated this new truck to the FDNY. Don't remember which Rescue Co. ended up with it but it sure was a beautiful Truck. The shots are not the best of my life but it was a rainy nasty day.
That is running as a permanent spare, it's all over the city.
cool pics paramedics_il although i live in nyc ive never have seen that rig much if at all.what is the purpose of the rescue that is a general saftey/mack and does any one have pics of it
That spare Rescue, I think it's an ALF build on a Condor chassie? Anyways that was running as Rescue 6 at one time. Since it has returned to the spare fleet, which rig is the reseve Rescue? I recall at the structural collapse in the Bronx, FDNY stood up Rescue 6. Which rig would that have been?
Thanks

I also believe this is the rig that was being tested for purchase by the department prior to 9-11.
NO, this is NOT the rig being tested at the time of 9-11. That was a Eagle pumper, not a heavy rescue.
The rescue was bought by the citizens of Oklahoma, as mentioned above, and was donated by Oklahoma as a thank you to FDNY for all of the help that FDNY provided to OK after the Murrah Building bombing and in memory of those lost on September 11, 2001. The Eagle pumper was part of a pilot project that was well underway at the time of 9-11 and the unit was rushed into service on Sunday 9-16 to replace units lost in the collapse.

This rig went to City Island due to the less call volume out there. Ladder 53 was running a 2000 Seagrave/Aerialscope 75'. When Ladder 45 in "The Heights" needed a rig to replace their 1994 FWD/Saulsbury/Aerialscope they received Ladder 53's 2000 Seagrave, and then Ladder 53 took the Spartan/Aerialscope. Thats the story I got.
anesti thanks for adding the pics

hey does any one know if once they get the new rescue1 if they are going to get reid of the current rescue1 or put it in as a reseve or what and if they do what will they do with the sprit of ok.
I expect FDNY will retain Rescue 1's current E\-One as a reserve or spare unit. They may convert it to a collapse rig or something. I doubt they will sell it off.
