I have this down as a Pirsch, that came from the Navy. 750/500. But I am not sure where that info came from nor how correct it might be.

Dave, I like what I see. The South Forks Bruco, you have 67 and 90. Was this a Bruco refirb?

What a coincidence, The Briarcliffe FC (Darby Township) is my original company! Do you remember where you took the photo at?

I would like to get a copy of the two Briarcliffe trucks from you.

YES THE SOUTH FORK BRUCO IS A REFURB. I DON'T KNOW WHO BUILT IT ORIGINALLY. THE BRIARCLIFFE ENGINE'S WERE SHOT A A STATE CONVENTION. I THINK IT WAS AT ESSINGTON BUT I COULD BE WRONG. I KNOW IT WAS IN THAT PART OF THE STATE.

Dave,

This is what I have on this rig. My source at the time said it was sold to Hillbilly - does any of the southern guys recognize this rig ?

Many thanks,

Bruce

1955 GMC/Approved, full cab, enclosed walk-in rescue and cascade unit, delivered 4/8/58 for $4,665 ?, this might have been the last rescue built by Approved which eventually filed for bankruptcy in 1961, V-8 gas motor, repainted later, in 1990 sold to Hillbilly Fire Apparatus.

Why thank you Dave, that is a great picture and a great looking rig. That thing would make a hell of a fun rig to own, it is amazing that it lasted all the way up to 1990.. would be very interesting to see where it went after it left Lester!
