I have another update for all you guys going to FDIC this year. In addition to st. louis city's new Pumper being there, rumor also has it that our new 100' platform will be there also! my dad says it will be but we will wait and see!
I can answer that. STLFD has 9 pumpers and 1 platform on order from Smeal. I was at the local Smeal dealer a few weeks ago picking up a part. They told me that the 1st pumper was most likely going to be at FDIC. He did not say anything about the platform. I would guess the platform is going to replace H&L 2 a 1996? E\-One at Station 2. H&L 2 is the oldest front line truck in the fleet. It was a emergency purchase prior to the 33 unit Smeal purchase(30 75' , 2 125', a 100 platform quints) . Spare H&L 105(125' Quint) is newer than this unit. 2 125' Quints have since been purchased in the last year or two. I believe he said there is also a bid out for refurb's on Quints. Once the Pumpers start coming in Quints will start going to Smeal for New paint, engines, transmissions, and brakes. Pumps, ladders, cabs, and bodies to be overhauled. The contract I believe is for 7-9 depending on what is spend overhauling them.
I do beleive that the 2's truck should be there as well can't wait to see them both. i have been asking about them as i sell smeal in illinois. where do you all plan on meeting for a group photo? Let me know my email address is captain714@firehousemail.com let me know Rob
Here is the video from smeal featuring engine house 28, chief Jenkerson and Deputy Chief Arras! not just st. louis but all over, smeal is a growing company!
How about the close up of the guy from the 28s w/the stupid grin on his face (@ about 6:07)! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Thanks Rick. We got it in about 6 or so this evening. I just got back home from checking it out. I didn't really take any pictures yet as its parked outside in the dark. It is our pumper out of house two, pumper rescue 1924. It is 1000 gal water and 40 gal foam. Ill get some better pictures once we get it inservice.
It is replacing a 1994 Pierce Arrow which was sold to Valley Parks former chief, who is now chief of Peel, AR. He bought the same truck in '94 and 2011. I drove the '94 Pierce for the last time this morning.

Our next order is to purchase a new ambulance. The 02 would become reserve and 08 move to house 1.

Phil, glad I could help, We were doing a pre build conference this week. Good to see your rig its very nice. love the Arrow XT. Its an Urban Tough!!! chassis. Thanks for the info. The 1994 Pierce Arrow looked sweet, our miss our 1983 Arrow and the real Detroit growl. That cab/chassis was a true classic.
From my understanding, Pacific House 1 will have 6114, 6112 and 6115. 6114 will handle the EMS runs. The current 6116 will move to house 2 in Robertsville and 6126 will be sold.

Jim, Im not sure what will be the new 6133. Possibly 6123? The 93ish Pierce Dash. Thats only a guess though. That would still leave 6124 and 6193 as a good amount of water out of 2house.
The old 1924 is being stripped tomorrow. Not sure when the new truck is expected to go into service. Sounds like we are shooting for the next week or so.

1919 is still inservice. It pulls the boat 1999 and our new off road bobcat. It is also dispatched on 1st alarms. It ran 2 calls yesterday. However, it no longer has the utility body on it. It has a flatbed.
I know St. Louis Engine 8 will be at FDIC. I saw it in the parking lot and tried to get pictures of it, but it pulled away before I could get over there and get them. It is in the new color scheme black over red. Looked really sharp.

Here is a cell phone picture of the new wagon! Pumper 8! I have a few buddies at FDIC! And look really hard people! You see that bulge on the front bumper! That's right, A Federal Q siren!
I just talked to my dad and told him of this picture and he informs me that smeal already has 6 pumpers and a platform already made and ready to go for us!
