Alex, why do they keep moving this rig from company to company?

Originally the rig was assigned to L6, the need for a Squad Co. on the westside made the City put E1's '06 Dash at Sta.6 as SQ6. L6 became L7 and after about a month of L1 being out of service, the city put L7 at Sta.1 and put E1's '00 Dash at 7. With the recent delivery of L1's Sutphen, the '06 Dash quint was moved to Sta.5.

Ladder 14 City of Marathon, is still very much around last time i checked, its survived alot of hurrican flood waters unlike most of marathons other apparatus. squad 14 the FL80 chassis didnt last through hurrican wilma and was dispossed of with no replacement and tanker 14 ran as engine 14 for about a year after wilma until they got there current contender engine. and the tanker is now operating a 4 door 4700 international Pierce tanker

You're both right. The rig is still around, just no longer in Marathon. The Marathon Ladder was traded in and is currently for sale through EVS Firefighting Technologies in Florida. It did survive the hurricane flood waters because, fortunately for them, it was at the Shop at the time of the storm.

Marathon's new ladder is a 109' Rosenbauer Viper on a Spartan chassis with a galvanized ladder, Green Star and SMART Aerial Technology. It is painted in the FDNY paint scheme as a tribute to the 10th anniversary of 9-11. The Ladder will be delivered in the next few weeks and a dedication ceromony shortly thereafter.

Minime86,

As for Sanford, I believe they kept their Tower as a Reserve and is out of Station 38. I used to live in Sanford and know they have had problems with Tower 27 reaching Building Fires in the City when Tower 31 is OOS. I will also try and look into and get sone information.

Kelvin, I have a couple friends on Sanford, i will look into it this coming week. As for Tower 27 reaching fires, it is either them or Tower 12 because both have access to the highways, (Interstate 4 and The Greenway 417) to get into Sanford rather quickly. but like I said, today Tower 131 (meaning reserve) was dispatched and the BC asked for a Tower to be sent. If they did keep it, maybe it was out for work. Will check into it.
