Frank, thanks for posting Tampa's Mack pumper. It is now housed at the Tampa Firefighter's Museum across the street from TFR's HQ on E. Zack St. in the downtown business district. It has had several modifications/additions such as additional equipment boxes on the running boards, an attic ladder rack and additional warning lights. It was overhauled/repainted by the TFR shops and now serves as both a museum piece and for Public Relations events. The first photo is from 1978 when it was a spare housed at Firehouse #6 in Palmetto Beach in the Hooker's Point/Seaport district. (photo courtesy Tampa Firefighter's Museum and Tampasbravest.com). The second photo is from a Christmas parade in the Ybor City neighborhood in 2010. It has the new graphics added by the shops. (Photo courtesy Capt. B. Wade, TFR PIO). Would it be possible to use your photos for Tampasbravest.com with full credit of course? The site is run by a close friend who is a Captain on Engine 9 who I contribute to. Thanks in advance!!
Guys, check out on YouTube, search for ......TampaFireResQ......a new(old) video of TFD operations in 1988. Great shots of a simulated response from Station 1. Loads of older apparatus shots as well, there is a scene with E3's '86 Seagrave which was my first assignment. Shots of the old Ladder 31 and HazMat 31. For guys that may be more familiar with Tampa, you'll see lots of young faces of Firefighters who are now Captains, District and Division Chiefs. Worth a look, sorry I don't know how to do a direct link.
