The Wallingford Mack tanker is still owned by the town, in the hands of Public Works as a water wagon. I believe it was Tanker 8, in service until 2000

Hey...I recognize where that North Farms Freightliner tanker was photographed...perfect segway to direct folks down to the fire-related category for information on the 2nd Annual Silver City Fire Fest on 7/09/11 here in Meriden, CT. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

And back to the topic of old Macks, here is Meriden's 1978 CF engine.

Engine 4 in Farmington was this 1970 Mack CF with 1000 gpm/ 1000 water. Mark A.Redman photo - Juergen Kiefer collection.

I believe that this engine may have been the Mack CF that made the 130 mile trip to our parade in Butler NJ on June 20, 1987, for our 85th anniversary combined with the NJ State Exempt Firemen's Association 101st convention and the North Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association 59th anniversary. They did win a truck trophy for whatever they brought.

Saving the best for the last (at least for me). Wagon 41 from the Oswegatchie Fire Co in Waterford was this GREAT looking 1983 Mack CF with 1500 gpm-pump and 500 gallon-tank. Mark A.Redman photo - Juergen Kiefer collection.

Back in the mid to late 1980's I used to see the apparatus of Oswegatchie, Goshen and Cohanzie fire companies from Waterford CT at the CT parades of Unionville and Farmington plus the Chocolatetown Firemen's Parades in Hershey PA where they travelled about 300 miles to attend. Waterford's members kept their apparatus in mint condition back then with me wondering if they still do.

Torrington's new E-4, sorry didn't grab specs - it does have a neat green feature of shutting the motor down and swapping over to generator power after XXminutes of idling unless in pump gear.
