Colorado Mountain Rigs
#1
I thought I'd start a Mountain thread for all the great apparatus rarely seen up there. I stopped at the ski town of Copper Mountain yesterday to get some photos, their station is amazing and photos of it are on the stations page.

First up is Engine 814, the summer time engine. Yes, that is copper colored paint!

I really like the copper, that's a nice change of pace. The fact that they're Sutphen seals the deal! I will say though, they look kind of funny without the Q siren in the grille. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Great photos, Eric!

The tower (85-foot, if I recall) was refurbished by Sutphen in the late-90's or so with a new cab, etc... I don't remember exactly what year it is, but I think it's something like a 1970.

Thanks, that's pretty much the same info one of the FF's told me. He said it doesn't move much now that every district around them has their own aerial now.
