I am guessing that they will not refurb the old 15's quarters and leave them on Pitt St.?
One of the things I love about FDNY (and other old "big city" FDs for that matter) is that they operate from many old fire houses that LOOK like firehouses. Here in Dallas, we have a few old stations that are still in service and several that have been closed and taken on "new lives". Most of our stations, however, were built from the 50's onward and have the cold war square, single story, flat-roofed appearance.

The 1st Division turns out of here as well, their offices are on the 2nd Floor. The Fire Marshal's, "Auto Squad" operates out of the 4th floor also.

From what I've heard, the move is permanent. The cost to refurbish Engine 15's quarters was astronomical & TL18's quarters (aka Fort Pitt) is less then a quarter of a mile away with an open bay since Engine 17 was disbanded in 1991(?), about 3 blocks north in the shadow of the Williamsburg Bridge.
