South Union, PA had this GMC c/o Snorkel. Did this rig become green at some point, or am I thinking of a similar unit? Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />

The South Union rig was painted green. Then after being Mounted on the Mack MC Chassis it remained green until sold a year or two ago.

This rig and several others burned when their station was set ablaze in the 1990s. There is a video on youtube I believe of the fire and them running inside trying to get this started. But becasue of the smoke it could not be started and it burned. What a shame.

One of the more interesting rigs I've seen...

Anyone have a guess as to original body?

I have it as a 1968 GMC/? 1000/750/65'Snorkel, rechassied(1987 Mack MC Tandem chassis) and rebuilt in 1987 by J.C. Moore
