Newly in service as of 10/30/2006 is Maple Bluff/Blooming Grove Rescue 56
2006 Ford E-450 Horton This is the ambulance where I was hired as a duty officer. Photos all by Assistant Chief Kris Loy
I'm going to try and get some better shots of this truck when I work up there next. The old R-56 is for sale if anybody is looking for a nice ambulance.
Brad
That is a different color scheme. Nice pics of a pretty nice looking unit. Thanks for sharing.

I am sorry I don't have any info on it. It's a beauty! Russell

I don't believe that's a Cadillac...It appears to be a Henney/Packard Ambulance. Nice pics though.
That's exactly what it is. Boykins, Va ran one during the fifties and sixties, and it was originally a U.S. Navy ambulance before being purchased by B.V.F.D, It had a roof mounted Federal 66L (Or similar siren)... painted rather than chrome... with red flashers both front and rear, and as I recall that was the only warning light on the rig.
Engine 1 to all units, we've got a glow in the sky!
