Pikesville Md. was running a Mack L series rescue for awhile between trucks (I think it was between the Ford C / Swab Squad and the Peterbilt cabover Swab squad.) Is this the truck???

LaVale's aerial was actually a 1945 model and orig. served Easton,MD. (The Commish has previously posted a B&W photo on another Maryland thread). In 1972,Easton got a new Seagrave TDA and the 45 was sold to Cumberland,MD. Due to lack of space and manpower, it was decided in 1976 to sell the aerial to Cumberland's neighboring company, LaVale VFD. They ran the rig with the original tractor for about a year and then it was sent to J&J Truck Bodies in Somerset,PA., where the GMC tractor was added and it was slimed. LaVale ran it for about 15 years before its demise due to mechanical issues. I was lucky to see this rig both responding and working some "big ones" in my hometown of Frostburg,MD.
For anyone interested, pics of this aerial while at Cumberland and LaVale are in my Arcadia title "Firefighting in Allegany Co.,MD."
GA Dave is correct on the 1953 Mack it does/did have Allegheny bodywork. This began life as Squad Wagon 1 with the Silver Spring VFD in Montgomery County. In '68, it went east to Berwyn Heights in PG County after they wrecked Squad 14. It stayed there as a reserve after Squad 14's Bruco body was re-chassied. In about 1974 it went to Arundel. As I have it in 1980, it was sort of "traded" to Pikesville who sent Arundel their '69 Ford C-cab Swab aka "Super Squad 7". I have the '53 as in service at Pikesville until 1982 when it was replaced by the correct me if wrong here on the year '79??? Peterbilt, Swab. I have been told the ol' '53 Mack is still around privately owned.

Outstanding shots, do keep 'em coming!
That Mack still exists. A dealer in Mack parts who sells at the Lititz Mack show used to use it to haul his wares around. I think that he still has it although I heard that it no longer runs.
