This truck was originally Big Canoe Engine 3. My 2nd job from 1996-June 30, 1998 was as a FF/PMDC in Big Canoe. I worked the last shift before Dawson took over on 7/1/98. Big Canoe purchased this engine brand new.
We had some very unique trucks staged all over the property. There is (or was) actually 5 fire stations throughout the property. Most are somewhat hidden from view. One truck was around a 1950 pumper if I remember correctly.

Scooby, I'd been to Big Canoe a few years ago and shot everything in all the stations. I set this trip up for GA Dave and Andrew and to shoot some of their new stuff. The way I first found out about Big Canoe was that I saw this truck for sale on a used car lot on 515 in Jasper. I searched out Big Canoe and found it very interesting, lots of cool stuff.
This one is a 1958 GMC 870/American LaFrance 500 GPM pumper that ran as Engine 2.
This 1992 E\-One Protector 1250/500 Pumper #9881 was acquired by Big Canoe not too long ago and now runs as Engine 3.

Yeah, that was the truck at the top of Sanderlin Mtn. We had a pretty nice kept late 80's Ford C cab over as Engine 5, a 70's Dodge Powerwagon/ Pierce as the front gate, Can't remember what Engine 1 and 4 were right now though. We also had a 1987 Chevy 3500/ Wheeled Coach gas burner for our first out med unit and a 1974 (I think) Chevy 2500 Suburban/ Southern as a backup. Talk about old school, had to transport someone from BC property to St Joes Atlanta one day.
Well, since Scooby got me looking at my old Big Canoe shots, I'll go ahead and post them. Brush 1, which is normally kept at a maintenance yard is a 1975 Dodge/Pierce 250/250 rig, #8801-C.
Scooby, I think this is the Ford cabover you were talking about. It's a 1983 C8000/FMC-Bean 1000/1000 pumper. It's ex-Dawson County, GA and has SO#8900.

That MIGHT be it...be 13 years. If it is, it was Engine 5...and MUCH better kept then. Whichever it was, it was original to Big Canoe...was the first new Class A they ever bought.
That particular truck was not there when I was.
The Rehab is the same (thought it was a 1987). It had a terrible exhaust leak that if you were in the back for more than 10 minutes you would have one TERRIBLE headache. Always kept the patients on O2, no matter what their complaint was.
Another not-so-great shot is this shot at a Blue Ridge, GA used car lot. It's a former Niagara Falls, NY 1972 Ward LaFrance 1000 gpm pumper. Don't know anything else about it.

This is also Ex-Wilson (Niagara County), NY.

I got lucky enough, after treating a person who was unlucky enough to drive her F150 into a tree, to get to the landing zone behind our Union County, GA Station 4 and shoot this neat shot of the various agencies represented. There was Union County Fire-Rescue's Tanker 4, Union General Hospital's Med 3, Erlanger Hospital, TN's LifeForce 4, and the Union County Sheriff's Office.
Brasstown, NC Vol. Fire Dept. took delivery of this used rig, a 2002 Int'l 4800 4x4/Pierce Hawk 750/650/20F rig, formerly of the Gatesville, TX Fire Dept. It bears Pierce #12943. It's currently at Southern Fire Sales and Service in Jasper, GA.
Mission/St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville, NC operates the Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) and uses two helicopters, one stationed in Franklin, NC and one in Asheville. This one is a 1990 Eurocopter BK-117, tail #N117J.
This little truck was sitting at Southern Fire Service and Sales in Jasper, GA last week. It was in for some work so the guy I found to move it didn't want to pose it for me in case it had a real problem. Anyway, it's Gordon County, GA's 2001 International 4700/EVI 500 gpm rig designated Rescue 3.
