Did Crown contract out on this one? I see their logos on the front of the cab above the siren speaker and on the canopy cab, but the stamped black vinyl pump panel, decal on the fuel fill door, and the cog-type American flag logo on the ends of the grille, as well as the general body appearance, sure look like a Pierce Suburban.

For a number of years, Crown was a West Coast dealer for Pierce, and many departments would purchase through them. Crown did not build the rigs, but usually their badging was affixed to the trucks prior to delivery.

This ALF appears to still be in service on their Facebook page. Now sporting solid RED paint. Sadly still appears to be a Department of Public Safety and not a real Fire Department.

Thanks, marco17. I never realized that about Crown. My eyes might not be what they used to be, but I thought that was a Pierce.

I'm no CF expert by any means, but I'm thinking this may be more like a '68 or '69, given the fluted front sheetmetal and the red flashers below the windshield. I think Mack started mounting those inside around 1970 or so.

Mack started using the aluminium fronts in 1969.
