Quarryville (Lancaster County) [/quote] Orignally saw service with FDNY Truck 1 and than on to the spare pool (it did not see service at L-157 in Brooklyn... the tower truck that Hebron Fire Department in Lebanon County has saw service at 157), it was bought by Larry Taylor Inc of Wysox, Pa and than sold to Quarryville, Pa. It was later bought by the Columbia #1 Fire Department (also of Lancaster County, Pa) for $35,000... Columbia spent about $40,000 refurbishing the piece again including a new paint job (done by Lancaster Lincoln Mercury), updates to all of the hydraulics by Fire-Rescue Products in Harrisburg and boom work. It is still in service at Columbia #1 BUT an AFG grant was recieved to replace this piece so be on the lookout for a new ladder truck in Columbia and this one to go bye-bye (and since it will be replaced by an AFG grant it should go to someone outside the fire service..although that doesn't always happen). |
