Unusual pin-in accident in Portland 5-28-14
#1
At 1634 Engine 19 and Truck 7 were dispatched to a rollover accident on Stark St. at I-205.

On arrival, Truck 7 reported a pickup truck over the guard rail and the driver pinned in. Engine 7

was dispatched when the call was upgraded to a pin-in and C3 took command of the incident.

Truck 7 reported the driver was conscious and alert.

From the time of dispatch until the victim was removed was 18 minutes.

In most pin-ins the roof is removed to gain access to the victims, but in this case that was not possible, which made the removal more difficult. Before any work could start the truck had to be stabilized. Struts were placed at both ends of the truck and a third placed on the far side.

Then the doors were cut off

Then they had to pull the door and hold it in place.

Outstanding work fellas! Has X-T2 been officially moved to Sta.7? Reasoning behind the switch? Thanks.

That is/was only temporary. We expect it will go back to 2s in 2 or 3 weeks when the new class of recruits begins.

Just the quint until Truck 2 is back. The engine may go into service then, too
