Interesting yellow lights on the front of those Macks. Are they used as warning lights?

Prior to the implementation of NFPA 1901, a lot of departments used yellow lights along with red ligts for their front warning systems. There are a few departments in my state that have older rigs with red & yellow front facing warning lights on the body and also in their light bars.

Silver Hills VFD's former Engine 293, a 1976 Mack CF 1000gpm, 500gwt, that also saw service in Fayetteville, Pa and was originally from Mt. Airy, Maryland
