Whats hanging off the back of the truck? Is it some sort of a seating area?
John Fauble

I am interested in all of the equipment and apparatus used in fire fighting and ems service.

I see what looks like a Hose Reel on the drivers side of the truck there. But just a guess.

or my other guess would Have to Be the Brush Packs/Pump Cans.

It looks like a cage is mounted on the back. Possibly an area to ride & use the booster line???

The Peotone Engine is Engine 15. Truck 14 is an ex Fountain Valley California. Brush 14 does not have a booster reel, it is a shorty booster hose and a one inch forest line prepped on the back which is a cage for personnel to ride on in the field.

This is exactly what this is. I ran into opportunities to sell rigs like this, but the manufacturer that I sold for wouldn't build this arrangement due to their belief that it opened them to liability if someone was hurt riding there...

I like the cage arrangement, much better than riding on the top of the tank and bouncing all over while running up and down in the field and getting bounced off the tailgate. The cage is alot safer especially with a couple tailboard belts on it.
