Hi, does anyone have any info and history on the seagraves that 22 used to run? Im also interested in where they ended up and if they are maby salvageable . Any info/help appreciated. Thanks!

THE FIRST ONE TO GO WAS SOLD TO STRASBURG VA FIRE DEPT AS ENGINE 51 WHO REHAB IN HOUSE RED/WHITE PAINT, IT RAN THERE TILL 2008 THAN SOLD THE OTHER ONE WHENT TO GAINESBORO VA IN FREDERICK COUNTY TILL 2005? THAN SOMEONE SAID IT WAS SOLD TO A COMPANY IN TN THIS ONE WAS STILL WHITE WHEN IT WAS WAGON 16

Here are some details on Springfield, Virginia's twin Seagrave wagons. These pumpers were two of the eleven built by Seagrave with forward facing jump seats and were quite unique. Springfield, Virginia 1980 Seagrave PB-24068 1250 gpm/500 gwt J-73933, Wagon 22, Fairfax County shop number V-33, 178 inch wheelbase, white with red scotchlite stripe, Detroit Diesel 8V-71N engine, Allison HT-740D transmission, Waterous CSY single stage fire pump, delivered in August 1980, cost $89,840, 1984 added two forward facing Whelen strobe lights and side facing Whelen max beam strobe lights to front bumper, Federal Aerodynic light bar to cab roof, front stainless steel wheel covers, rear aluminum wheels, rebuilt by Fire Force in 1990, added Whelen speaker strobes to cab front, sold to Gainesboro, Virginia in 1991, sold to Deer Lodge, Tennessee in 2003, on GovDeals.com in 2009. The twin pumper had serial nubmer J-73934, Engine 22, Fairfax County shop number V-32, delivered in August 1980, cost $89,840, 1984 added two forward facing Whelen strobe lights and side facing Whelen max beam strobe lights to front bumper, Federal Aerodynic light bar to cab roof, front stainless steel wheel covers, rear aluminum wheels, sold to Strasburg, Virginia in 1995, Reserve Engine 51, added rectangular headlights and 750 gwt, sold to collector in France around 2008.

I believe this Crown Snorkel was listed for sale by Glade Spring a few years back, and someone listed it on FirePics. Just curious if any of the VA guys know if it is still for sale, or if they are still holding on to it.

As of the summer of 2011 it was still there. I tried twice unsuccessfully to get a picture of this truck.

That's an interesting setup, I don't think I've ever seen a top mount pump facing forward before.
