R5 Hazmat Support
Do the TSU, Collapse and Hazmat Support unit all live outside?

Do the TSU, Collapse and Hazmat Support unit all live outside?
FDNY has two TSUs. TSU 1 lives inside at the SOC quarters on Rossevelt Island. I think the one at R 5 lives in a lot across from the street.
I did some ride a longs from there a few years ago. At that time TSU lived inside behind E160. Hazmat Support lived in the lot across from the house. The collapse unit wasn't there at the time. I think that there is now a gator there also.

Do you happen to know what issues they are having with the rig?
I had heard one issue was poor acceleration.
Noticed on the Ferrara site a FDNY chassis that appears to be a new TSU, are they replacing both TSU's?

Reportedly, Rescue 3 conducted a drag race with the E\-One fully loaded and the Ferrara empty....The almost decade old E\-One left the Ferrara in it's dust.
I've heard the same about the "drag race" but, I didn't know the Ferrara was empty. Trav!

The problem is that the newer diesel engines with all of the pollution control add ons, this takes away from horsepower.

I've also heard the drag race thing (from a member of R2 while visiting), but I agree with FD141 and Ed on this...it was built to FDNY specs, and if you're expecting the same performance from a post-2010 engine that you got from a similarly rated pre-2010 engine, it just isn't going to happen.

People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?
rig on Ferrara's site is not a TSU. the computer controls for the motor were adjusted and they are quicker and have more power now than when they came in.
If its not a TSU.....What might it be? Another SOC rig? New Dive Unit?
