LOL, there is Dumbo.. this used to be Harrisburg City Squad 1 for many, many years... it was underpowered and overworked. This rig is talked about quite a bit in Dave Housel's book "We Can See It From the Bridge" which is one of his many books about his time working for the City of Harrisburg Fire Department during the war years. It was sold to Fairview Township who ran it for a couple of years and probably fell apart LOL.

It appears to have one of the dutch made Geesink ladder's on it, Milwaukee had an FWD/Geesink ladder truck also but it was a cab forward FWD. I have included a very small picture from Cedarburg's website of thier FWD/Geesink... I think everyone will agree the resemblence is striking!!

Shoop, if that is "Dumbo" then it did in fact end up in Richland Twp., and was totaled in an accident.

The Cedarburg rig was a 1957 delivery, the one at Sharpsburg was a 1960 delivery. The bodies have different compartment layouts. The outriggers are exposed on the Cedarburg rig.

Harrisburg Squad, then to W. Fairview, then to Richland Twp. It was totaled while in service at Richland.

the Sharpsburg,PA FWD/Geesink aerial was featured in the "What's New" section of the July, 1960 edition of "Fire Engineering". According to the article, it has a 4 section 85 foot Geesink aerial.

Davepa, we shot that there in Oct.1994.

This rig's photo was one of the victims of an incorrect/incomplete caption in my recent Enjine!Enjine!
