I'm very familiar with the Chews rigs, which now reside in Camden, NJ as reserve units. The unique thing about the Hahn/Saulsbury rescue is that (so I'm told by the chief that ordered it) it is the only Hahn tilt cab unit that had an extended cab. If you take notice of the amount of space behind the rear cab door you'll see that is is longer than all of the other tilt cabs.
It's also nice to see these rigs (replaced by a 3-unit Pierce order) to have a second life. Camden, NJ had quite a few '86 Hahns that were tough as nails (most are still in the city as reserve units). They loved their Hahns so much that they bought a used piece from Pottstown, PA a few years back (put into first line service - still there) for E11. So, when the prospect of the 3 Chews Hahns came about, Camden scooped them up. I don't even think they're planning on repainting them!

Correction- The used Hahn came from Good Intent FC-Pottsville (Schuylkill Co.),PA where it was Eng.11.
It is a 1988. It was sold to Camden in 1997 where it is also Eng.11. Pottstown is in Montgomery Co,PA
Speaking of Hahn's - I am looking for a shot of the following Hahn if anyone has one. I have seen the delivery shot of this, but never any other shots of it:
Berwyn Fire Company (Chester County, PA)
1962 Ford F-750/Hahn, full cab, model HCBP-4, 250/500, delivered 6/28/62. Used as the first piece out until 1972, it was then painted all yellow and converted to a rescue-pumper, designated #1. It was sold in 1976.
You know..... this would be a good place to post my request for a picture of the 1970's Hahn pumper that the Columbia #1 Fire Department ran. Anybody out there got a pic of it? The newer guys at the station want to see it and the older guys want to see it again.
Hey there Frank B thanks for posting those Hartwood Hahn Pics, I really appreciate it (brings back many memories of my brother and me running calls together).
As for the only photo in format I have is the 88 with a frontal view only on the front ramp, just doesn't do it justice like your pics.
The wreck was a few years ago and the guy riding the seat in the accident is my Truck Captain here at work. I believe the were responding to a house fire in the county.
I drove through Elmsford, NY today, and ex-Pleasantville,NY Rescue 47, 1980 Hahn is still there in Brookfield Auto Wreckers. I was told the rig had already been sent out of the country (see page 1 of this thread). It was early in the morning, and no one was present to inquire about it. The chrome plated elbows and caps have been removed from the discharges, one light (rear is missing a cover), and some of the spanner wrench mounting brackets are missing. Here are two photos I was able to take from the street throught the fence.

Boy how I miss Ole' Bessy.... that thing was a great truck.... terrible to get ground ladders off of and it sure didn't carry enough of them.... but boy what a truck. It had a great turning radius (was the size of a pumper), could pump with the best of them (and sometimes better than the best of them) and could be fit in tight areas. I was the last one to drive it and fly it before it left Columbia.... I trained the department who bought it from us how to operate and drive it as a matter of fact. They got a heck of a deal on her too, I went up to visit and got to drive it again.. they love the old girl and I am glad that it went to somewhere it is being apprciated. I, of course, told them that when it comes time to sell it........ it will become mine... even if I have to sell my children (well, in this case I guess other people's children since I have none). Here is another picture of it, this time with it set up, posed by none other than yours truely (with a POS camera).
Back in the day, Mobile had 4 of the GMC/Hahns and 2 GMC/Centrals of the same type. From what I am told, They were delivered with Cab roofs but the chief at the time had the roofs cut off. The Hahns served at Station's-12, 16, 19, & 23. The Centrals served at 1 and 14. I am sorry I didn't get pics of these rigs in service, but I took them for granted. The custom rigs of Mobile's other Company's took my film.
1981 Hahn 84/Snorkel, canopy cab, 1500/500, 55 ft rear-mount snorkel, model HCP-15S, delivered 4/22/81, Detroit diesel, automatic, 6KW Onan generator. Replaced in 2004 with the Mack CF/Baker scope. On 2/13/05 it was sold to the East Fallowfield Twp. FC (Crawford County, PA).
1969 Hahn 78, Cincinnati canopy cab, 1000/500, model C-10-87, originally delivered 7/30/69 to Friendship of Royersford (Montgomery County, PA), Wakasha gas motor, 5-speed manual transmission, sold to Columbia in 1986 for $21,000. It was traded in to Glick Fire Equipment in 1990 who in turn sold it to Turbotville (Northumberland County, PA) through Northeast Fire Apparatus. Turbotville never put the truck into service and sold it to the Williamsport Bureau of Fire (Lycoming County, PA) where it was repainted all red and the engine was replaced with a 6V71 Detroit diesel, ran as Engine-2 as a reserve piece. Sold by Williamsport in 1999 to an individual who in turn sold it in 2000 to the Hillsgrove Fire Company (Sullivan County, PA). By 2005 owned by an individual in Lock Haven, PA – sold on E-Bay on 6/13 for $1,777.
1968 Ford C850/Hahn, full cab, 250/750, model HCBP-27, delivered 4/12/68, tranverse walkway between cab and body, Hale 4-stage high-pressure pump only, no volume pump, repainted 2/75. It was donated to Beaverdale (Northumberland County, PA) on 4/1/95, but never placed into service. It was sold to a local coal company.
