Lindsay, very good photos as usual!!

How much LDH will this ride be carrying?

John:

I can't really say. As you can see, the LDH was not yet loaded when the photos were taken and unfortunately, I did not ask.

Sorry I cannot be of more assistance with your inquiry.

Thanks for the photo compliment.

For what it's worth according to the drawing on Pierce's new delivery section it is designed for 1000' of 5" nitrile LDH.

Cell phone (Samsung Epic Touch -- the Sprint version of the Galaxy S II) pics from a recent trip to Kauai. We were staying right next to Poipu Beach Park. Engine 4 is the local station in Koloa and responded to the park for a possible person in the water. It was definitely interesting watching 2 of the guys jump off the truck wearing swimsuits -- not something you see back home!

The lighting conditions were pretty brutal, as the sun was directly behind the truck when you were facing it from the driver's side. Here's what I could get.

Here's the Kauai County FD logo on the door of Engine 4. Kauai County has 8 stations, with the 8th opening north of Kapaa in the last few years. Previously they went 1-7 from north to south around the road that rings the island. There's also a station at the airport in Lihue, but I think it's a separate department.

Here is the rear of E4, with the surfboard that they carry on the driver's side of the hosebed visible. My dad was commenting on how the salt air clearly beats up these rigs, as the paint is starting to look a little haggard, and it's not that old.
