Dave, the Rescue from Steelton in Post #1714, you have part of the history of the rig correct.  It originally started out with the East End Fire Company No. 6 of Steelton as Engine 54.  The East End then closed and this engine was given to the Baldwin Hose Company No. 4 of Steelton where it ran as Engine 53-1.  It then became Rescue 53 with the Baldwin Company shortly before the 4 remaining companies in Steelton merged and than it became know as Rescue 50.

Maybe it bought used or even maybe new(leftover from a fleet order) that way.  Some stepvans used to have the lift/bucket  kinda like a telephone truck. The bucket used to sit right there on the passenger side.

something like this......

Mechanical engineers build weapons, whereas civil engineers build targets.

When the man at the door said," Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms", I, naturally assumed it was a delivery!

Any chance the Nottingham Ford is a Sanford or a young? The body work and cab extension is definitely not a thibault unless it was rehabbed.....

I think this was a 1971 Ford C/Bruco 1,000/750 which was purchased by Nottingham in 1984 from Southampton (also in Bucks County, PA).  Nottingham had a 1966 Ford C/Thibault which I think was 800/500 and was sold in 1984 to Lake Silkworth (Luzerne County, PA).
