Sorry for the delay, this rig was assigned to the US Coast Guard Training Center @ Petaluma CA. How or why it's on the East Coast is beyond me.

This unit has been transferred from Petaluma to the Curtis Bay Facility, seems that Curtis Bay's KME is suffering some what an is in need of replacement. Unknown if this move it temporary.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to stop down the C.G. Yard down there and check it out.

That seems like a long way just to borrow a reserve engine!

Yea, but the Coast Guard only has 5 or 6 Fire Depts left an I believe they just do the hand me down thing with older trucks. The guy @ AES did say that they wanted this Interface rig due to tight areas around Curtis Bay.

How many fire apparatus do they currently have at Curtis Bay? Just the engine?

From what I was told, they had a KME engine that this one replaced.

They also have a pickup truck that they run around in. As a 1st responder type vehicle.

I have no idea why they would have bought and kept this instead of the 1996 Simon-Duplex/Saulsbury engine they had (which was sold to Inlet, NY).... the Simon-Duplex seemed to be in very good condition and was not running as thier rescue truck (that was a 1990 Pierce Lance). Somethings boggle the mind...
