Alex, I thought the new station on 139th Av. was HCFR 14, but now I see the old 14 on 131st Av. has been redone and is now again Station 14. Is the 139th Av. station now HCFR 5? Has Truck 14 become Truck 5? I'm liking the Black over Green. Keep the photos coming!!

Correct! Old 14 is 14 again, while the 'new' 14 on 139th is now '5'. So yes - there is an Engine and Rescue 14 as well as Engine, Rescue, and Truck 5. Rescue 74 is also now Rescue 43...for whatever reason.

Also saw construction of a Collier County EMS station at a rest area along Alligator Alley (I-75) at mile marker 63. It is supposed to be done Fall 2014, so I read. It looks very similar to the Broward Sheriff Fire-Rescue station (#106) along the same road in that county.

 

For those unfamiliar, Alligator Alley crosses the Everglades between Naples and Fort Lauderdale with a solid stretch of nearly 50 miles without many exits or access. A perfect place for speeding.

 

Historically, response times to accidents along the road are delayed because of the distance. It's why BSFR built Station 106, and put a transport-capable Engine (Pierce Velocity) into service there, along with a rescue and various water craft.

Yes I agree I know Ive seen atleast 1 being built.

Yes, Chassis for the airport pumper came over to the factory in March.... but no others.

Since the cabs and bodies are built in different plants by different people, the times at which the cabs come off the line don't always necessarily jive with the availability of bay space to start the body.

If any of you guys are in the area of the Rosenbauer factory I believe in S. Dakota? can you possibly get just one photo of the pumper would be greatly appreciated, I have a few of the airport pumper but at the initial start of the cab build back in early march, if anyone can thanks in advance.

The order is for the Extruded Aluminum Body that is built at the MN facility, not SD...........

I toured the MN plant on May 31 as part of the IFBA regional meeting. The chassis for the airport pumper was sitting behind one of the plants.

New Tampa Engine 22. Didn't realize they were due for any other new engines. The oldest frontline engines in busier stations are Engines 3 and 4, both identical 2004 Pierce Quantums. Figured they were up next .

 

Looks like the tank/hosebed is larger on these than previous TFR engines.

Had our pre-construction meetings for our new very large hazmat truck at EVI last week.  It will be built alongside 2 new Special Operations trucks for Palm Beach County, that are also going to be very large tandem axle rigs.
