The Harrods Creek, KY Hamerly ladder has been for sale on Craigslist for a while. It is the former HACC training ladder.

A few weeks ago Andrew and I went down to Cheraw,SC for the annual Rekindle Society (NC/SC SPAAMFAA chapter) spring muster. The weather was not the greatest but we still had fun talking shop with fellow members and shooting the rigs that showed up despite the rain. First up was a rig we found at the parade lineup spot but whoever owns this rig now did not take part in the festivities.

This rig is still technically in-service but it is due for replacement next year with a Ferrara mid-mount tower.

Ladder 1   1956 Mack B85 750/300

ex Wise Avenue VFC, Baltimore Co., E272

photo taken 09/92 during WAVFC 50th anniversary.

 

In service at Wise Avenue, 1956-1974. sold to Cheraw, SC and converted into a "Ladder Truck"

Re-acquired  by WAVFC in 1998.

I can still remember being woken up by my father when this was delivered to Dale City to go see it. Over 30 years old and still going.

Yep that's it. Last Hahn purchased by Dale City. Green stripe and additional graphics put on in 82-83. I was told that this was the last Hahn/LTI tower to be built but never had that confirmed.
