Most days when I leave work I put on the PulsePoint Live Dispatch Radio here in Las Vegas. Today I did not for some reason. I was at Pecos and Desert Inn when I got a text message that there was a working fire in the area of East Charlston and North Lamb. Being as this was the way I sometimes go home I looked in that direction and saw a large column of smoke. All pictures were taken with my Cell Phone as that's all I had with me

On Scene Units

Clark County Fire Department Engine 16, Engine 27, Truck 16, Rescue 16

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Engine 8, Engine 201, CBRN 8, AIR RESOURCE 1, RESCUE 8. PIO1, BATTALION 1 AND 3, EMS 1, CARS 6i4, 6i5, AND 6i7

AMR AMBULANCE

I put on the Live Radio Feed as soon as I could safely. When I was close I saw smoke in the area still and decided to take in the fire.

After parking and getting close this is what I saw. Now sorry about the quality but all I had with me was my cell phone.

I will post more in the morning. I am still working on getting the pictures fixed and making a video of the fire.

Last few of the crews there really wasn't much to see once I got there they had called a Knockdown of the exterior fire and were working on clean up and getting a handle of the fire in the attic. At one time it was reported that a child was trapped in the original fire unit but that turned out to be wrong thank god and the child was with a neighbor,

What does the "CBRNE" stand for? Great shots by the way.

Chemical

Biological

Radiological

Nuclear

Explosives

This is basically the HazMat response unit. The four major departments in the county each have a CBRNE Unit and each has at least one Engine Company that carries that Designation.
