Always interested in the Springfield FD. Story has it, they purchased so many S model Maxims, that some people thought that the S stood for Springfield. Lets test the memory banks here. Engine 2, a 1957 model. Ladder 12, a 1954 model. Engine 8, Engine 13, Rescue Squad (Commonly known as Squad B, a hold over from the early days of motorized equipment), all 1973 models. Engine 7, a 1979 model. Ladder 1, a 1982 model, the first diesel aerial in the department. The second Rescue Squad is a 1984 Chevrolet/Saulsbury. Corrections are always welcome.
Thanks soooo much for the Springfield photos R1SmokeEater! I grew up there and these pics bring back so many great memories for me. Please post more if you have them <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
