I despise the grilles on all new KMEs, but the truck itself looks GOOD!

It doesn't look to bad even though the grill looks a little diff. How does the tailboard / hosebed area look....

It's Boston....not all of the stations can accommodate the raised roofs.

Holy nice low hosebeds batman!

That grille also has a little 'keystone' to it, a subtle nod to KME's PA roots?

[/quote]O.K., didn't think of that - makes sense.

Just out of curiosity, what is the ball park price for three like this? Shoot me a PM if you got some hard numbers.

Thanks....

I like these, they have a strictly business, functional look to them which I like...I can even deal with the grille too.

On Tuesday E52 & E53 were at Motor Squad while E7 was still at Bulldog being retrofitted. These 3 pumpers have had the rear facing jump seats moved to the back wall of the cab so that there are now 4 front facing seats in a row, all with the Scott Pac holders built in. A great idea IMHO. Not sure when they are expected to go into service but I'd wager soon. At that point their current pieces will either replaces spares, or more likely be refurbed & reassigned. I know E49 is expected to get the former E33 sometime soon & E30 and E48 are due to be replaced as well.
